Los Angeles, September 29:A month after Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein’s tragic death, New York City medical examiner's office has revealed the cause of his death. The city's medical examiner has ruled that AM died of "acute intoxication" after a cocktail of drugs.
Celebrity disc jockey and Los Angeles club owner Adam Goldstein, better known by his stage name DJ AM, was found dead at 36 years of age in the bedroom of his New York City apartment on Aug. 28.
Authorities investigating the deejay’s death previously confirmed to People magazine they have found undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach.
A law-enforcement source told People at the time that the nightclub star had eight undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach when he died, and the ninth pill was in his mouth when his body was discovered.
Since the tragic death of AM, authorities in the case were trying to find out whether he died from an accidental drug overdose, or committed suicide.
DJ AM didn’t commit suicide
DJ AM’s death has now officially been attributed to accidental drug overdose, not suicide.
The New York medical examiner's office on Tuesday determined the cause of AM’s death, saying that the renowned jet-set disc jockey died accidentally of acute intoxication after consuming a lethal cocktail of drugs.
"We've done the testing and investigation in conjunction with the NYPD and in our opinion this was an accidental overdose rather than suicide," Medical Examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove told People Tuesday.

About DJ AM
Adam Michael Goldstein (March 30, 1973) was a well-known disc jockey who made more news with his wild lifestyle, drug-addiction and alcohol than his disc spinning job. But, the spinner had been sober for 11 years before apparently relapsing in the wake of horrific plane crash he escaped last year along with friend Travis Barker. AM was reportedly taking anti-anxiety medication to beat his fear of flying following the fatal plane crash.
The American club DJ and musician, better known as DJ AM, was a member of the rock band Crazy Town, and worked on albums for Papa Roach, Madonna, and Will Smith, among others. He was a frequent collaborator with Travis Barker of Blink-182. He also appeared on several television series.
