Los Angeles, September 26 -- American Idol alum Justin Guarini is set to marry his fiancée this weekend, according to People magazine.
The singer announced on Thursday that he will walk down the aisle Saturday to marry his longtime love Reina Capodici.
Guarini, who became a household name after performing on “Idol” in 2002, and Capodici of Doylestown, Penn. have known each other since high school, but only started dating a few years ago.
Wedding bells ring for “Idol” star
After the years-long romance, Guarini, 30, has now planned to tie the knot with Capodici, 27, according to his pal and publicist Jeff Ballard.
"He's doing really well, he's excited," Ballard tells People. "This is the happiest I've ever seen him. He's smiling from ear to ear. I don't know what's bigger – his teeth or his hair."
Guarini, the first runner-up on the debut season of the television show American Idol, and Capodici reportedly will swap vows in an intimate ceremony on a private estate along the Delaware River, near their families' homes in Pennsylvania.
"It's going to be a small, intimate wedding just for the families," Ballard tells the celebrity news magazine of the weekend nuptials. "It's really just his family, her family and a few close friends. But they're going to have a celebration, probably after the first of the year, for all their friends."
Couple’s self-written vows
The couple will recite vows they've written themselves for the "spiritual" service. The ceremony will be presided over by a female minister from the Universal Church and Capodici's 4-year-old daughter, Lola, from a previous relationship will speak at the ceremony.
"She's going to have some vows to recite as well," says Ballard. "She's the cutest little girl. Justin just adores her."
Guarini also talked to TVGuide.com about his wife-to-be and their upcoming nuptials. The singer said he proposed to Capodici when he was filming promotional spots for the new American Idol Experience ride at Disney World's Epcot Center.
"We've known each other since we were 15. I was a student of her mother's in junior high and it's a small community, so I ended up getting to know her family," Guarini told TVGuide.com. "It wasn't until Christmas two years or so ago that we connected and fell head over heels for one another."
As for his upcoming wedding, Guarini said: "We didn't want to have typical wedding music. We wanted to have songs that meant a lot to us but performed very uniquely."
