The new digital notebook has a unique butterfly design that apparently reflects the inspiration for Tam’s entire spring collection, a Chinese love story based around the “Butterfly Lovers”
New York, September 13: In an elegant merging of fashion and technology, Vivienne Tam, the Chinese fashion designer unveiled a natty new digital clutch on the runway of her Spring 2010 fashion show, during New York’s Week at Bryant Park.
The product, a joint venture with Hewlett Packard (HP) reflects Tam’s spring 2010 collection, inspired by a famous Chinese opera “Butterfly Lovers” who needed to be reincarnated as butterflies to consummate their friendship.
“To me, butterflies symbolize love, freedom, independence and transformation,” said Vivienne Tam. “I love working with HP because they are also inspired by nature. Together we bring life, color and personality to the computer world, creating fashionable technology for modern women.”
HP has collaborated for the second time with Vivienne Tam to create a designer netbook, a combination of elegance and designer chic dubbed as 'digital clutch'.
The new notebook , a follow-up to the original red colored Floral HP digital clutch is cool, chic, with a design that is more subtle. It is so light that it can be easily carried around.
Speaking on their celebrated partnership Vivienne stated, “I’m excited to partner with HP again on a new design that truly embodies my inspiration for the new spring collection,” said Tam.
She added, “When women around the globe carry HP’s digital clutch and wear my clothes, I want them to feel beautiful and confident.”
The new digital clutch
The designer clutch is very much for the ladies, aimed at women looking for elaborate laptops. Unlike most computers that are created in bland colors, Tam’s new stylish netbook is feminine and charming. The outer casing of this elegant edition is adorned with an original butterfly design on a champagne gold backdrop.
The new HP Vivienne Tam digital clutch, is based on HP’s Mini 1000 and comes with a larger screen than its predecessor. Though not much information is available about the product, the new notebook has an 11.6-inch screen, a thinner body and supports a new hinge arrangement at the back.
No hardware or pricing details are released for Vivienne's clutch, but are expected to be announced shortly. The HP Vivienne notebook will start retailing in early Spring.
