It was being expected that Apple iPod camera upgrade will be launched on Wednesday Sept. 9 at the “Only rock and roll” media-centric event, but the unexpected technical issues could mar this upgrade
Los Angeles, CA, September 8 -- Here is a piece of news that could disappoint Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL, NYSE: AAPL) fans. It is being expected that the widely awaited media players equipped with a camera might not be out soon as the makers are facing some technical difficulties with the new products.
It is being anticipated that the iPod maker is facing some technical trouble with the components of the cameras. This information has come only a few days before Apple is expected to disclose its new range of media players or iPods on Sept. 9.
With the makers now having problem with the camera modules, Apple enthusiasts will have to wait as the product will not be available for retail distribution as of now.
This latest report reconfirms the news that was published earlier this Monday by Hardmac, the English-language version of French Apple news site Macbidouille.
Murky rumors about upgradation aplenty on the Web
Although there have been no reports of a similar upgrade for the iPod classic, pictures of the iPod touch and iPod nano with camera holes have surfaced in previous months. This made many people believe that the new hardware might be a reality soon.
Some reports suggested that only Apple’s hard drive-based player could be upgraded with a photography feature.
Also, it is being expected that the image sensors that will be used in the upgradation would be 3.2 megapixel CMOS image sensors. These are exactly the same lens that are presently available in the iPhone 3GS.
All these rumors regarding the upgradation have been circulating for quite some time now. However, the evidence has become more concrete in the recent months as someone clicked pictures and even made a video of what seemed to be a third-generation iPod touch model with a camera.
Not only this, the person even gave details of the internal working of the device alongwith its photos.
As of now, it is not at all clear as to whether iPods with cameras will be showcased or scrapped totally from the Sept. 9 event.
Plus, there is no surety as to whether the products will be out on sale immediately even if they are unveiled.
