LeAnn Rimes' romantic date ends with hit and run crash

Rimes, who is rumored to be having an affair with her married Northern Lights co-star, Eddie Cibrian, did not sustain any injury in the accident.

Rimes was not arrested but was questioned by officers as part of an investigation related to her Thursday evening’s traffic accident.

The 26-year-old singer was questioned by officers about the accident that occurred on Thursday around 7:45 pm in Brentwood, California, police Officer Norma Eisenman said.

"There was a collision and she was questioned, but that's where we're leaving it at this time," Officer Cleon Joseph told TVGuide.com. "It's an ongoing investigation."

Joseph did not provide any further details saying only that the investigation is continuing.

Susan Novak, a spokeswoman for Rimes, told E! News: "There was a routine police investigation into this incident, and a police report was filed. We are confident that this matter will be resolved shortly and LeAnn will be cleared."

Earlier in the day, Rimes was spotted enjoying outing with her current love Eddie Cibrian at a golf course. After months of denial of an affair, the couple went public for the first time Thursday about their romantic relationship.

The duo stepped out on the golf course together, playing a round at the Valencia Country Club in Valencia, California.

"They arrived separately, but gave each other a big hug when they first showed up," an eyewitness at the course told americansuperstarmag.com.

"They looked really happy each other," one fellow golfer told the magazine. "They were laughing quite a bit."

Rimes and Eddie, who have been linked since March, have each separated from their respective spouses - Dean Sheremet and Brandi Glanville-in the past month.

Rimes, a Mississippi native who snagged two Grammy trophies in 1996, tied the knot with Sheremet in 2002. They have no kids.

Eddie and Glanville married in 2001 and have two sons together, Mason, 6, and Jake, 2.
