Lohan reportedly misplaced her mobile at the Mott Corner Deli on Thursday night. The troubled actress reportedly went crazy when she returned to reclaim the phone, but the cashier refused to hand it over to her until he was sure it was Lohan's.
Lohan creates a scene in Deli
According to New York Post, the drama-riddled Hollywood actress had forgotten her Blackberry on the counter of Mott Corner Deli on Kenmare Street after buying some stuff.
A few minutes later Lohan realized she had left her phone inside the shop and returned to claim her left-behind cell phone, but counterman Mohammad Hashan refused to hand over it without verification. He insisted on checking a security tape to make sure she was the owner of the device.
According to NY Post, 27-year-old Hashan noticed the phone at 7:15 p.m. Thursday and hurried outside to find its owner.
Lohan’s celebrity status didn’t work
Hashan, who had no idea who Lohan was, saw her get into a cab and asked her if the phone was hers, to which she replied "yes."
“Give me proof because there were more customers. If this is your phone, then have one of your friends call it. If it rings, I'll give it to you," Hashan said.
Lohan's friends, stylist Patrick Aufdenkamp and an unidentified woman, then tried to make a call, but failed. Hashan then asked the “Mean Girls” star to come into the store so they could review security video.
Lohan called cops to get her cell back
His actions left Lohan upset and fuming. "Lohan started cursing at me. She then made a grab for her phone," Hashan said.
She started "laughing, crying and yelling," and began threatening him. According to Hashan, "She said, 'Don't you know who I am?'; 'I'm calling the police! I'm going to arrest you for not giving me my phone!'".
He said: "I told her no. I didn't care who she was."
Lohan then asked a friend to dial 911. But, by the time cops arrived at the scene, the situation had already been "diffused."
After viewing the security video, cops handed over the device to Lohan.
"I was just trying to be honest. Now I have police and trouble already," Hashan later told NY Daily News. "Who is she? Is she a star? I'm no celebrity. I'm not nothing. I'm only a restaurant worker."
