In the divorce papers, Wright filed on Aug. 12 in Marin County, California, the actress listed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split
Los Angeles, August 19 Actress Robin Wright Penn and actor-director Sean Penn are heading for splitsville after 13 years of marriage, according to People magazine. This is the celebrity couple’s third attempt to end their rocky marriage.
The couple, it seems, is in a dilemma- they cannot decide whether they want to stay together or want to end their tumultuous relationship.
Couple calling it quits-Again!
Robin Wright and her 49-year-old actor hubby Sean Penn have twice before filed for divorce or legal separation only to quash their petition few days later. The two are headed for divorce once again, for the third time actually, and this time Wright has filed for divorce from hubby, People reports.
The magazine reports that the 43-year-old "Message in a Bottle" actress has filed the papers to end her more than decade-long marriage with the two-time Academy Award winning actor.
In the divorce papers, she filed on Aug. 12 in Marin County, California, the actress listed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
The court papers obtained by People state "both parties have already agreed to [shared] custody of their son Hopper Jack, 16, and … have already agreed to division of all property".
Wright and Penn, who have been together since 1989 and were married in 1996, also have another child, 18-year-old daughter Dylan Francis.
Other rounds of divorce filing
Previously in December 2007, the Penns had decided to go their separate ways and filed for a legal separation. But probably within a few months love again resurfaced and the couple realized they did not want to call it quits, and asked the court to dismiss the proceedings.
Earlier this year, Penn had filed for legal separation from his wife in Marin County, citing irreconcilable differences. Only three weeks after filing for divorce, the actor requested the court to dismiss his legal separation case, again.
Wright determined not to reconcile this time
But this time Wright is seemingly determined to divorce her hubby. In an interview in the September edition of More magazine, released Tuesday, Wright told that she had no plans to reconcile with her husband. "I hit that crossroad a while ago," she said. "I know what I don't want."
"I have no regrets. I, we, have two amazing children we raised together," she added.
At the Academy Awards this year, Wright and Penn walked the red carpet together but some tension between the two was hinted at, as the actor, while taking the Oscar for his role as slain gay activist Harvey Milk in the movie ‘Milk’, neglected to thank his wife in his acceptance speech.
Robin Wright is appearing in three upcoming movies "New York , I Love You", and "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee," while Penn will be in Terence Malick's “Tree of Life” and “Fair Game”.
