"HSM" star Vanessa Hudgens set to marry longtime love Zac Efron

Teeny lovebirds Vanessa and Zac have been dating since the filming of High School Musical, which took place in 2005, and according to the Californian-born actress they are currently engaged

Los Angeles, August 17:Vanessa Hudgens of the ‘High School Musical’ fame has hinted that she is definitely marrying her longtime boyfriend and "HSM" co-star Zac Efron, according to several tabloid reports making rounds all over the Web.

Teeny lovebirds Vanessa and Zac have been dating since the filming of High School Musical, which took place in 2005, and according to the Californian-born actress they are currently engaged.

Rumors were rampant few months ago that Zac, best known as the singing teen basketball star Troy Bolton in the hit TV movie High School Musical, had proposed to co-star Vanessa during a promotional trip to Japan in January. But, the 21-year-old heartthrob bluntly dismissed the rumors that they were planning their wedding. In April, he told American GQ magazine: "That was such bulls**t. I'm definitely not getting married. In this business, you're either getting married or they want you to be pregnant. I'm not getting married until I'm 40. If ever. The thought never crossed my mind."

Wedding Bells for Teen stars

Now, the 20-year-old star of the Disney franchise has officially announced that she and her longtime beau are engaged to be married.

Vanessa reportedly has told U.K.’s News of the World that she and Efron are planning to wed, though they haven't set a date for the nuptials yet.

“We haven’t set a date and if we did we’d keep it secret for as long as possible,” Vanessa says. “Why? What if one of us was offered a major film part? Then we’d have to postpone our marriage and people would say we’d split up. And we don’t want that.”

She further told the British newspaper: “Zac likes me in bright red lipstick,” adding that “I am his one true vamp!”

Vanessa, who can be seen in local cinemas in another teen musical flick, “Bandslam,” is in great shape and feels good about herself.

"I don’t look in the mirror and think: "Yeah! Looking good!" But I am confident,' she said. "I love chocolate, but I try to avoid sugar and simple carbs like white bread. I go cycling regularly and I also do Pilates. And I’ve been working out with a personal trainer to get into shape."
