Los Angeles, July 31: Famed actor/director Mel Gibson is in trouble again. He has been accused of attacking an unnamed paparazzi in a nightclub, said online media reports on Friday.
The Oscar-winning writer-director-actor was at Los Angeles' Playhouse on Wednesday night (July 29) with his pregnant girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, when he allegedly lashed out at a man, believed to be a paparazzi photographer, who wanted to shoot the star and his new lady love, Hollyscoop reports.
Gibson accused of battery that never occurred
The paparazzo filed a report for battery against Gibson with the LAPD, accusing the “Mad Max” of attacking him Wednesday night at the L.A. nightclub. The snapper claimed Gibson became irate, ripped his shirt, when he attempted to take pics of the actor and his Russian partner.
Although the photographer filed a report with the LAPD accusing Gibson of battery, but the 53-year-old actor won’t face battery charges as police did not find any evidence.
The cops told entertainment website TMZ that no charges have been laid against the newly divorced actor because the man did not suffer any injury and witnesses had seen him leaving the venue with his shirt intact.
Police told TMZ that the man "is making the (battery) story up and no criminal charges will be pursued".
According to a spokesperson for the Playhouse, “A minor incident occurred between a persistent photographer and Mr. Gibson’s party… no one was injured.”
