Jackson’s doctor to face foreclosure of country club home

Dr. Conrad Murray's Red Rock Country Club home could be foreclosed by November after he accumulated $100,000 in mortgage payment debt

Las Vegas, July 30: Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s personal physician, is facing foreclosure after owing more than $100,000 in mortgage payments of his Las Vegas home.

According to the papers filed with the Clark County Recorder on July 23, Murray could possibly lose his home located at the exclusive Red Rock Country Club by November.

Facing debt
Mary Hunt, a foreclosure official from Stewart Title revealed that Murray has accumulated more than $100,000 in debt since his last mortgage payment made in January. The physician was supposed to pay $15,000 each month for the $1.7 million loan on the 5,268-square-foot-home.

Edward Chernoff, Murray’s lawyer, addressed the issue saying that the doctor’s financial problems have been caused by his inability to work due to the investigation of Jackson’s death. He said, “His hope is he can forestall foreclosure until he can once again begin working as a doctor.”

More bad news
Aside from being involved with the investigation on Jackson’s death, Murray also faces more than $400,000 in court judgments for his Nevada medical practice. Last December, he was also hit with almost $3,700 in judgments for failing to pay for child support in San Diego.

It seems like bad news has its way of finding their way to Murray as ABC News revealed yesterday that he was arrested in 1994 for domestic violence charges, which he later on got tried and acquited.

Continuous investigation
Murray was at Michael Jackson’s Los Angeles rented home during the day the singer died. Chernoff explained that Murray simply “happened to find [Jackson but] didn’t prescribe or administer anything that should have killed Michael Jackson”.

Police officials and Drug Enforcement Administration agents have searched Murray’s Red Rock Country Club home as part of the investigation of Jackson’s death. They also searched his medical office at Global Cardiovascular Associates for nine hours but did not divulge any information on what they found.

Authorities stated that Murray has not been named as a suspect for the possible manslaughter case and that he has been cooperating with the investigation.
