Los Angeles, July 8: Miley Cyrus of the ‘Hannah Montana’ fame appears on the cover of August 2009 issue of Elle magazine and talks about her new clothing line with Max Azria for Wal-Mart in an accompanying interview.
Months after appearing on the cover of Glamour magazine and a year after her controversial photo shoot for Vanity Fair, songbird Miley Cyrus posed super seductively for the August issue of Elle.
Miley’s mature poses
Dressed in black, the reigning teen queen is looking more mature than her age in the Elle mag’s photoshoot. At 16, Miley looks very much the grown-up on the cover of the magazine and gave mature poses in the photos inside.
In an inside pic, Miley is stretched across a table with a hand in her hair, wearing sexy thigh-high leather boots and black feathered sheer dress.
On her new clothing line
Miley has recently landed a deal with discount-giant Wal Mart to bring out a new clothing line with designer Max Azria, who has several successful lines like Hervé Léger, BCBG and Max Azria to his credit. Her new clothing line, which will be featured in Wal Mart stores in early August, includes tops, pants, graphic tees, shoes and accessories that will be priced all under $20.
"Oh my God, I'm so stoked!" she said of her new Max Azria for Wal-Mart collection in the interview for the magazine. "It's a lot of peasanty, flowy tops, hippie and loose and sexy, like boho chill mixed with English-rocker-esque. Plaids, studs, rips, cool colors.”
When asked about her favorite item in the new collection, she replied: “The jeans are my favorite part of the entire line. Because, like, literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don’t have it available.”
"I would pay $500 for the jeans that we make for $20," she continued. "I'm really into high fashion."
On her break up with Gaston
The Tennessee teen also opened up about her relationship, now over, with 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston.
"We're together, and then again, we're not," she said. "Some people see us more as friends and don't get why we work in a relationship. They're like, 'It's weird, best friends shouldn't date!' But the person that you eventually spend the rest of your life with – I'm not saying it's him – why are you going to wake up with someone every day and not want to hang out with them?"
On her closeness with Nick
Miley also spoke candidly about her closeness to ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas, who she's rumored to have rekindled her romance with.
"It's hard for all of us," the Disney starlet said of her superstardom. "That's why me and Nick are so close, and me and Demi [Lovato] are so close. There are so many people that could be using you. So me and Nick and Demi, we don't need anything from each other. We got our own thing going on. I'm close with Taylor [Swift] too."
Miley, who is among the top-selling recording artists at Wal-Mart, is all set to kick off on a 45-show tour on Sept. 14, 2009 in Portland, Ore. Sponsored by Wal Mart, the show will feature a special performance by Metro Station (the band of Trace Cyrus, Miley’s brother), and will run through several major cities including Los Angeles, New York City, Dallas, Chicago, New Orleans and more before winding up in Miami on Dec. 2.
