People: Bradley Whitford, Jane Kaczmarek Divorcing

Following reports of the split of the couple, who were married in August 1992 and have three children, representative for Whitford's released a statement urging media to respect their privacy

Los Angels, June 21:Actors Bradley Whitford and Jane Kaczmarek are heading for splitsville after 16 years of marriage, according to a report from People.com.

Whitford and Kaczmarek call it quits

The "The West Wing" actor and "Malcom in the Middle" actress have filed for divorce papers on Friday, June 19 in Los Angeles, the report says. The celebrity pair has not disclosed the reason of their separation.

Following reports of the split of the couple, who were married in August 1992 and have three children, representative for Whitford's released a statement urging media to respect their privacy.

In the statement released on his client's behalf, Whitford's rep said: "He hopes the media will respect their wish for privacy as they focus on their children."

However, Kaczmarek's camp has not yet issued a single comment on the divorce report.

Whitford, 49, and Kaczmarek, 53, who have been married since August 15, 1992, have three children together- son George Edward, 9, and daughters Frances Genevieve, 12, and Mary Louisa, 6.

Bradley Whitford, born October 10, 1959 in Madison, Wisconsin, is an Emmy Award-winning American actor who is best known for his role as Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman on the NBC television drama The West Wing. For that role, he won an Emmy in 2001 for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Whitford’s role as the evil businessman Eric Gordon in the 1995 comedy Billy Madison is also his one of the most memorable roles. He starred in a Broadway revival of "Boeing-Boeing" last year.

Born Jane Frances Kaczmarek on December 21, 1955, Kaczmarek is an American actress who is best known for playing the character of frazzled mom Lois on the television series Malcolm in the Middle, which was originally televised from 2000-2006 on the Fox Network.

For that role, Kaczmarek received seven consecutive Best Actress in a Comedy Series nominations. She currently stars as a judge on TNT's "Raising the Bar.”
