Los Angeles, April 29: Mel Gibson willingly introduced his new lady love, Oksana Grigorieva, to the world as he walked hand-in-hand with her at the Los Angeles screening for 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' at Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theater.
Mel made his first public appearance with his newest love interest only two weeks after his wife filed for divorce.
The 'Lethal Weapon' star is rumored to be dating Russian pop star Oksana for about three years, but a rep for the actor denies the claim. "Mel has really been single for almost three years and it's nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself,” said the actor’s rep.
Mel, 53, and Oksana, 39, quietly walked alongside each other on the red carpet as media jubilantly got their favorite shots. “They came in quietly and as under the radar as they could and they were pretty low-key. Mel seemed very comfortable,” said an attendee of the event.
Gibson was present at the screening for Hugh Jackman’s new movie because of his friendship with Richard and Lauren Donner, the producers of ‘Wolverine’, who also produced Mel’s ‘Lethal Weapon’ movie series.
Plus, according to a source, “He wanted to see the movie.”
Mel and his wife of 28-years, Robyn, had officially filed for divorce in Los Angeles court, earlier this month. They had called it quits, almost three years back.
Robyn, who has seven children with the Hollywood star, cited "irreconcilable differences" while filing for divorce, which came only a few weeks after Mel was spotted playing on a beach with Oksana.
Reports of their closeness started circulating from the sets of the movie 'Edge of Darkness', when they were photographed leaving his trailer together.
However, Mel, a devoted Catholic, always rebuffed the reports of his affair.
