Miley Cyrus shoots down rumors of Jonas romance

Rumors ran rampant all over the Internet about Miley’s reunion with Nick after the two were spotted enjoying a lunch date at L.A.’s Village Idiot in mid-April.

Speculation about the former couple’s reunion actually brewed early this month when the Hannah Montana star teamed up with Nick and his brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas to record a music video for Disney song "Pass It On".

But, Miley, who is currently dating model-singer Justin Gaston, abruptly shot down rumors that she has rekindled her romance with her ex-love, insisting they have just remained good friends since the split.

Using her Twitter page, the 16-year-old Disney star has tried to address the issue, explaining that she has been hanging out with Nick, but it doesn't mean they are dating again.

"It makes me sad to think that people out there aren't friends with THEIR ex bf, because let me tell u it IS possible," she wrote, considering her reunion with her former love as a "stupidddd rumor".

"We aren't back together. I don't think people know how to make an ex-boyfriend into a best friend and it seems impossible. But when you have known each other as long as we have - we did have such a great relationship. Even he has said, 'We don't know what will happen in the future but for right now, we know we are best friends," she added.

Further, Miley wrote that she is dating 20-year-old underwear model/musician Gaston for nearly eight months. "Justin and Nick are two very amazing people and they both mean so much to me," she said. "I love both of them so much, and they are both very dear to my heart. Justin is an amazing person! He can always make me laugh and has a heart of gold."

Calling Nick "so lovely”, Miley continued that “He reaches out to so many people with his music, not only with his talent but with his heart. Our love for music is something that keeps our friendship together."

Miley had a brief relationship with Nick Jonas last year, before they split under the pressure of work commitments.

In an interview with Seventeen magazine, Miley had given a reason why they broke up, saying that: "We became boyfriend and girlfriend the day we met. He was on a quest to meet me, and he was like, 'I think you're beautiful and I really like you.' And I was like, 'Oh, my gosh, I like you so much.' Nick and I loved each other. We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot, and it really wasn't fun."
