Marquez’s stunning lawsuit is packed with some shocking charges against "CSI: Miami" star David Caruso
Los Angeles, April 10: 'CSI: Miami' star David Caruso is being sued by his former girlfriend Liza Marquez, who reportedly is bringing up shocking allegations against Caruso.
Marquez, who split with the actor while she was pregnant, filed a multi-count lawsuit Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Marquez’s stunning lawsuit is packed with some shocking allegations, including breach of contract/settlement agreement, fraud, and intentional infliction of emotional distress (Domestic abuse).
According to the court documents, Marquez and Caruso had quite a rocky relationship. Marquez alleged that Caruso asked her to terminate her first pregnancy and later told her “I guess for now you’ll just be a birthing cow.”
In the documents, Marquez claimed that Caruso accused her of wanting to sleep with actor Billy Dee Williams, and that he emotionally abused her during their relationship and threatened to "bury her" if she continued to pursue the matter. She also claimed Caruso raised a hand on her “several… times.”
Marquez also claims to have found “significant amounts of pornographic materials”, including a “stash of 1970’s pornography” under Caruso’s bed.
The court papers state that Marquez met Caruso on the "CSI" set in 2004. The two began dating, and later started living together. The lawsuit claims that the 53-year-old actor gave Marquez a ring and promised her that he would take care of her if she would act as a homemaker and confidante.
But, Caruso ended their relationship merely two days after the birth to their second child in October 2007. Then, in August of 2008, the two entered an agreement in which, Marquez claims, Caruso was to pay her $1 million plus $200,000 in attorney’s fees. But a few months later he broke that agreement.
Marquez is now seeking $1.2 million and punitive damages for fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress, as well as a house she claims Caruso promised her.
Meanwhile, Stephen Kolodny, an attorney for the actor famous for his role of Lieutenant Horatio Caine on the TV series CSI: Miami, has branded Marquez’s claims “false”.
Also, a rep for Caruso responded to the claims Thursday in a statement to Access, saying: “Last month David became concerned about the welfare of his children and sought court assistance to redefine David’s and Liza’s custodial schedules.”
The rep added: “It now appears that Liza has decided to retaliate by raising false claims against David, which David finds unfortunate since these claims will divert the parties’ and the court’s attention away from the best interests of the children.”
