Newfield Exploration explores for new fields of oil and gas but is happy with old reserves too. The independent oil and gas exploration and production company drills in and around the Gulf of Mexico, mostly in the shallow waters off the Louisiana coast. It works onshore, in the Gulf Coast region of Texas and Louisiana and in the Rockies. Newfield Exploration has also expanded into Oklahoma's Anadarko Basin. Outside of the US the company has interests primarily in China and Malaysia. Newfield has proved reserves of 2.5 trillion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent.
