Megan Fox calls off her engagement

New York, February 25: U.S. actress Megan Fox has called off her engagement to Brian Austin Green, according to several tabloid reports rampant all over the Internet.

Us magazine on Wednesday reported that "Transformers" star, Fox, 22, and former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star, Green, 35, have ended their engagement.

"The relationship had run its course," a source close to the couple tells Us magazine. "It's completely amicable, and they are remaining friends."

According to People, the two actors have decided not to get married. “The decision was mutual,” the magazine quoted a source as saying.

Fox and Green, who became engaged in November 2006 after dating for two years, plan to focus on their respective careers, the source said.

As their nearly five-year relationship has come to an end, Green will continue his work on “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, while Fox will return to the Transformers franchise, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" to reprise her role as Mikaela.

In November, Green told People magazine that he and Fox were hopeful for a small wedding, or even elopement.

Fox recently told Us that they are planning to wed soon but they haven't talked about wanting more kids.

"I feel like I need to set my career and do a movie other than Transformers," she said. "Then I'll explore family."

The break-up rumors began making rounds on the Internet late last year, when Fox and Green were seen having arguments in public and the slender, olive-skinned actress stopped wearing her engagement ring.

Fox and Green met in 2004 and were engaged two years later in November 2006.

Last year, Megan Fox was voted World's Sexiest Woman by British magazine FHM. She was also chosen as the second most desirable woman of 2009 in a poll by online men's magazine AskMen.com. She was ranked at No. 2 on the online magazine's 9th annual list of "Top 99 Most Desirable Women".
