Los Angeles, January 16: NBC announced today that their three popular shows “The Office,” “30 Rock,” and “The Biggest Loser” will all be returning for another season. The future of their new and old shows was also revealed.

Angela Bromstad, the president of Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios, said, "These renewals represent our faith in 'The Office' and '30 Rock' as they continue to represent the gold standard in acclaimed and award-winning series.

“We want the devoted fans of these series to know that we are thrilled that these quality programs will be back with the same high-caliber episodes that viewers have come to expect."

The reason for showing “The Biggest Loser” for another season was explained by Paul Telegdy, the executive vice-president of alternative programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios. He said, "'The Biggest Loser' is a positive, life-enhancing show that has resonated with our audience and has created a solid and loyal fan base. This inspirational franchise series will continue with fresh ideas and heartwarming stories."

NBC will be showing some new shows for this year and has already set their premiere dates. The comedy starring Amy Poehler, which still remains untitled, will premiere on April 9. It will be shown every Thursday at 8:30 p.m., which is the current timeslot of their show “Kath & Kim.” The police drama “Southland” will premiere on the same date. It will take the current timeslot of “ER” which is Thursday at 10 p.m.

Three more episodes were added to the series “ER” so that Executive Producer John Wells will have enough time to prepare for “Southland.”

The new cooking reality show “The Chopping Block” will premiere on an earlier date, March 11, and will air every Wednesday at 8 p.m., taking over the slot of “Knight Rider.” The drama “Kings” will be shown starting March 15, every Sunday at 8 p.m.

NBC’s top-rated series “Heroes” will continue to air despite getting declining ratings during the past months. Bromstad even said that "'Heroes' is very secure."

As for the shows “Kath & Kim,” “Knight Rider,” and “Lipstick Jungle,” no final decisions have been made whether to continue airing them or not.
