Los Angeles, January 8: It seems that Brad Pitt still has soft corner for his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. The Hollywood actor insists he did not cheat on Aniston with Angelina Jolie.
In an interview with W in the annual "A-List" February issue, the heartthrob of millions confessed to his continued close relationship with Aniston, but at the same time claimed that his current wife-lie partner Jolie is not a home wrecker.
"We still check in with each other," Pitt says of Aniston. "She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don't see how there cannot be [that]. That's life, man. That's life."
Last year Jolie revealed that she and Pitt fell in love on the set of the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. And, in November, Aniston told a journalist that Jolie’s comments are "really uncool" because she and Pitt were still married during filming.
However, the "Benjamin Button" star, who appears on the February 2009 cover of ‘W Magazine,’ says his relationship with Jolie didn't begin until after he and the "Marley and Me" actress split in 2005.
“Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart,” Pitt says. “I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created.”
“What people don’t understand is that we filmed [Mr. & Mrs. Smith] for a year,” he explains. “We were still filming after Jen and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful. [The film] will mean something to our kids. It will, that’s all.”
In the interview, the 45-year-old macho star also talks about his life with Angelina Jolie and their brood of six. He describes the family as “this cuckoo’s nest that we got going on over there.”
He acknowledges that becoming a father inspired him to give up his smoking habit. “I quit smoking. That was the only thing that got me to quit. That was it. Done,” he says adding that he and Angie have fun working together and feels the things they do bring them closer together.
The Academy Award winning actress and her husband-like boyfriend Pitt, known in the media as "Brangelina", have a total of six children, 3 adopted and 3 biological children.
The Jolie-Pitt brood include a son Maddox, 7, whom Jolie adopted in neighboring Cambodia in 2002, a 3 years old daughter Zahara, whom she adopted in year 2006 from Ethiopia, Pax, 4, from Vietnam, a 2-year-old biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt and the newly born twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.
