Los Angeles, November 20: Teen sensation Miley Cyrus, the star of the hit Disney Channel TV series “Hannah Montana,” goes to the big screen by providing her voice for a major character in the movie “Bolt.”

“Bolt” is a Disney Pictures animated movie about a famous Hollywood dog of the same name. Cyrus plays the part of “Penny,” the owner and human friend of the title character “Bolt.”

During an interview, Cyrus said that, “One reason I really wanted to do this movie is because I love animals. I have five dogs of my own and I know if one ran away I would not be able to do anything. And that’s the way Penny is. When she loses Bolt, she can’t work. She can’t sleep. She can’t eat.”

Playing the role of the dog Bolt is actor John Travolta, who will be lending his voice to an animated character for the first time. He commented that he liked the role that was given to him saying, “As a person, I’m probably a dog, I’m big on loyalty.”

“Bolt” tells the story of how a white German shepherd who plays a superhero in a television show believes that he is has actual superpowers. However, he gets accidentally shipped to New York City, away from his Hollywood home. On his journey finding his way back to Hollywood, he meets a cat named Mr. Mittens and a hamster named Rhino who becomes his travel buddies. As he embarks on his biggest adventure, Bolt realizes that he doesn’t need superpowers in order to become a hero.

Cyrus accounted how she enjoyed the movie’s story, “It really is an emotional roller-coaster ride. You start out kind of scared of this evil villain, but you’re excited at all of the action in the TV-show sequences. Then you’re sad because Bolt leaves. And then you’re laughing at Rhino.”

Aside from the plot, one thing movie-goers would sure enjoy is Cyrus and Travolta’s duet for the movie’s theme song, “I Thought I Lost You.”

The movie is made by the same creator of the Disney movie “Lilo & Stitch.” It will be directed by Chris Williams and Bryon Howard. Other stars who gave provided the voices for other characters in the movie are Nicole Kidman, Woody Harrelson, Thomas Haden Church, and Bernie Mac.

The movie is said to be released on November 21.
