United States, November 17: The famous video game, “Guitar Hero”, has added drums and vocals to to its latest version, “Guitar Hero: World Tour” against the rival Harmonix’s “Rock Band”.
Activision’s “World Tour” is a sequel to its “Guitar Hero II”. The new addition to the Guitar Hero series not only puts in the facility to play drums and sing along but also features a refurnished guitar.
World Tour’s revamped guitar gives you the effects as of a Stratocaster and includes features similar to a slider that allows players to do some tap playing. It is also larger and heavier than what was in the preceding Guitar Hero version but is still comfortable to play with.
Another good feature of “World Tour” is its song list. It has a track list of more than 80 songs that range from the 1970’s hit by Guess Who’s “American Woman” to Rise Against’s “Re-education” from this year. However, many songs in World Tour’s list are already available in Rock Band 2, so may not be one of the pushing factors.
If players are not satisfied with the songs included in the “World Tour” CD, they always have the option to add songs by downloading them like in the previous Guitar Hero versions.
Players can also create their own songs and make their own tracks in the “Music Studio”, where they can write and record their self-made songs and later upload and share them online.
Primarily the addition of the drum-kit could be the factor that can push you to go for “Guitar Hero: World Tour”. Its drum set beats that of Rock Band with its rubberized and velocity-sensitive five-pad set including two raised cymbals and a foot pedal.
The game includes solo and band play with the options like career mode, quick play and competitive play. However, unlike “Rock Band”, it does not allow players to rescue their band mates when one of them fails during a performance.
