Beyonce is eager to play Wonder Woman on big screen

U.S. pop star Mrs. Beyonce Knowles-Carter has expressed her desire to play Wonder Woman on the big screen.

Singing superstar told the Los Angeles Times that she is interested in playing superhero on the big screen, revealing that she has already met with representatives of DC comics and Warner Bros to express her interest.

"I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great," the 27-year-old wife of rapper Jay-Z told the paper. "And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?"

The “Cadillac Records” and “Dreamgirls” star, whose new album “I Am… Sasha Fierce,” is due Nov. 18, said that that it would be a dream-come-true if she played the iconic comic book character donning Wonder Woman’s red-white-and-blue bathing suit on the big screen.

“After doing [dramatic] roles that were so emotional I was thinking to myself, ‘OK, I need to be a superhero,’” she said. “Although, when you think about the psychology of the heroes in the films these days, they are still a lot of work, of course, and emotional. But there’s also an action element that I would enjoy.”

Born in September, 1981, R&B diva Beyonce rose to fame as the creative force and lead singer of the R&B girl group Destiny's Child, the world's best-selling female group of all time.

Beyonce’s 2003 solo debut album, Dangerously in Love, won her five Grammy Awards, including best contemporary R&B album and best female R&B performance.

Knowles also achieved success in the film industry, starring in such Hollywood films as the 2006 comedy The Pink Panther and the 2006 musical film Dreamgirls, which earned her two Golden Globe Award nominations—one for acting and other for the song "Listen".

After being famous lovebirds for years, the award-winning singer and actress Beyonce Knowles and her longtime rapper boyfriend Jay-Z finally became husband and wife this year in April.
