People in the United States paid big bucks to be among the first to get their hands on the latest model of Apple's revolutionary iPhone, when it was launched in July.

Contrary to this, in Poland, dozens of actors got paid for standing outside the stores to generate excitement prior to the launch of iPhone there.

Orange, the country's largest mobile phone operator, has admitted to Reuters that it hired dozens of actors to stand in queues for the iPhone when it went on sale today (Friday) in Poland.

"It was a part of our marketing strategy, the concept was thought up at Orange Poland," the company said in an e-mail statement. "The aim was to 'warm up' the atmosphere around the launch of the iPhone."

"We have these fake queues at front of 20 stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone," Reuters quoted a spokesman as saying.
In the United States people paid big bucks to stand in lines long before the launch of the iPhone 3G to get their hands on the device.

Apple Inc. unveiled the much-anticipated follow-up to its widely popular iPhone device at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. The next generation iPhone, a 3G-enabled device, debuted in July in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong simultaneously.

In the United States, the iPhone 3G is available at AT&T stores at 3225 Pleasant Valley Blvd. and the Logan Valley Mall.

The 3G model is a follow-up to Apple’s widely popular iPhone device that went on sale last year in the United States and several other nations. Apple has described the newer model as twice as fast and half as expensive as the original.

The iPhone 3G is a revolutionary phone with unimaginable features at the users fingertips. Fast 3G, or third-generation, cell phone technology, GPS mapping, features like Microsoft Exchange and App Store.
