Clay Aiken, Jaymes Foster Welcome Baby Boy

8.08 a.m on 08/08/08 was too momentous for Clay Aiken, the former the ‘American Idol’ runner-up and music producer Jaymes Foster, who welcomed their first child together, at the time. The 50-year-old record producer gave birth to a baby boy, at a North Carolina hospital on Friday morning. The baby is named Parker Foster Aiken.

"HE'S HERE!" Aiken wrote on his website. "My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken.”

"Wow ... 8:08 ... 08/08/08," he added. "The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy."

Aiken's mother Faye said that Mom, dad and baby all are doing fine. While breaking the news first to Lynda Loveland of Raleigh, N.C., TV station WRAL, she revealed that her son is "smiling from ear-to-ear."

Parker measured in at 19 inches and weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces. Unlike the ‘Measure of a Man’ singer’s red mop, the baby has dark hair.

He might not have inherited similar hair, but the Clay heir’s name comes only from his family. We already know the origin of ‘Foster’ and ‘Aiken’ and ‘Parker’ comes from Grandmother Faye's middle name.

Jaymes’ brother, the legendary music producer David Foster, had aanounced her pregnancy back in May, while confirming that the child was conceived through artificial insemination.

29-year-old Aiken met Jaymes after his exit from ‘American Idol.’ The two have been friends, ever since. Foster has produced several music albums of Aiken, which include ‘A Thousand Different Ways’ and ‘On My Way Here.’

Although Aiken and Jaymes do not have a romantic relationship, they plan to raise the child together.
