Ed McMahon sued Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and billionaire Robert Day for a broken neck, which left him debilitated and unable to work leading to his recent money woes.

Last year, McMohan, 85, was at Day’s home where he slipped on "unsafe entry stairs," tried to reach for non-existent hand rails, fell and broke his neck. He was taken to Cedars, where the doctors failed to diagnose his condition and discharged him without taking an X-ray.

The former sidekick to talk show host Johnny Carson of ‘The Tonight Show’ also accused the doctors at Cedars to have been unsatisfactory in conducting two subsequent spine operations, which caused him pain and discomfort for months.

His neck was later corrected with three surgeries, the most recent of which was performed on July 11.

With that entire medical trauma, the entertainer could not work and fell $644,000 behind on mortgage payments on his Beverly Hills home.

McMohan filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court seeking an unspecified amount for malpractice and elder abuse. Cedars made McMohan feel like a “bobble head,” says the lawsuit.

Simi Singer, a spokeswoman for Cedars-Sinai refused to comment on the allegations saying that they had not been served with the lawsuit yet.

The lawsuit also involved Robert Day, the founder of the Los Angeles investment management firm TCW Group, which handles $130 billion in assets. Day had McMohan over for a dinner party in 2007. The oldie slipped and blamed Day of being ignorant towards a ramp-like staircase on his property.

"We had hoped to avoid a lawsuit, but our discussions were not fruitful and we were left with no other options. That being said, we believe our suit has great merit and we expect a favorable resolution," said Howard Bragman, spokesman for Ed McMahon.
