The ongoing blockbuster divorce trial between Christie Brinkley and her estranged architect husband Peter Cook took yet another ugly twist yesterday (Monday) when the former supermodel accused her soon-to-be ex-husband of manhandling their children.

During the second phase of their scandalous divorce trial that focuses on the child custody battle, Brinkley told a court that Cook treated the kids roughly so many times, adding that "At times he was too strong, too overwhelming with his use of force."

Brinkley and her fourth husband Cook, last week, arrived at court in Central Islip, N.Y. to start their divorce trial. In his opening statement in the celebrity divorce trial, Brinkley's lawyer, Robert Stephan Cohen had called Cook a self-obsessed sex addict and charged him of spending thousands of dollars on Internet porn.

Cohen at the time also accused Cook of having extramarital affair with his young assistant, Diana Bianchi, then 18. He also claimed that his client when checked his account on computer she came to know that Cook was spending $3,000 a month on pornographic websites. Cook was also accused of being involved in the most humiliating activities, including masturbation on a web camera and searching the Web for "young fit girls".

The 54-year-old former supermodel and her estranged husband Cook, 49, are arguing over custody of their children, 13-year-old Jack and 10-year-old Sailor Lee.

Brinkley told the courthouse how hard it was for her to put on a brave face and throw a birthday party with 30 kids after learning that her husband has an affair with Diana Bianchi, now 21-year-old. She also told a story about how she once saw Cook forcing their son Jack up the stairs. Brinkley said she followed them to stop Cook doing so.

"He'd say, 'oh come on, he's just faking it' if Jack would say 'oh my arm hurts' or something like that," Brinkley said.

In response to Brinkley’s accusations, Cook's lawyer Norman Sheresky said that all the assertions made by the model are false and ridiculous.

"We have nine or ten years of Christie Brinkley telling everybody who would listen to what a great husband he was," Sheresky said. "And he was. We have cards and letters from Christie Brinkley telling him what a great husband he was. Articles in virtually every magazine about what a great father he was. I don't think it's going to be very hard to prove the truth. He was a terrific father."

Sheresky said Brinkley and Cook were very good co-parents, and they should once again try to continue to raise their children together.

"What happened is Christie got real mad and she doesn't want to co-parent anymore. Even if it means her children don't have two parents, that's okay by her. It's cruel and it's silly," he said.

Brinkley's lawyers, this weekend, said they will present the evidence in the court, blaming him for buying dangerous motorbikes for the kids, introducing his son to his new girlfriends, and driving 80 mph with his daughter in the car. Last week, supermodel’s 20-year-old daughter Alexa, with singer Billy Joel, told the court how Cook once forcibly shoved her head into a bucket of water and pushed her down stairs. However, Cook denied the claims.
