The American Idols Live! Tour, the annual one featuring the top 10 singers at American Idol, is set to kick off on July 1, announced Simon Fuller, the creator of the series and AEG Live, the concert promotion company.

Effectively, what this means is that regardless of which of the Davids wins the finale scheduled for next week, America would get an opportunity to watch both of them perform during the tour. Other fan favorites who made up the top 10 would also be in action during the concert.

The tour is scheduled to kick off at Glendale, Arizona, on July 1 and end at Tulsa, Oklahoma, in September. During that period, the singers would be making 50 pit stops in all, across America, with one concert scheduled to be held in Toronto, Canada as well.

The tickets for the tour are all set to go on sale this Saturday. Apart from David Cook and David Archuleta, the other singers for the tour are Syesha Mercado, Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Chikezie Eze, Jason Castro, Kristy Lee Cook, Michael Johns, and Ramiele Malubay.

On another note, Syesha Mercado, the last woman left in the show before she was eliminated to set up the David vs. David finale, said she was unaware that her elimination had seemed a foregone conclusion. She said she was actually expecting it to be a David vs. Syesha finale, specifying that the David in question was Mr. Cook.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Syesha said, on being asked about how she felt sharing the stage with the two other performers knowing she was on her way out, “Well, I didn’t read that press. I didn’t get that memo. I’ve been in a little bubble for a while. I heard rumors that it was going to be a David-Syesha finale.”

When asked why she peaked so late into the show, Syesha said a part of the reason was purely nerves and that it was not any strategy that she had developed. She said the negative comments she was getting were instrumental in toughening her up as the show went on.

Speaking of future plans, she said she wanted to get into a lot of things. When asked if she was interested in a career in acting, Syesha said, “I want to do everything. I want to make an album, do Broadway, act in films, open restaurants, homeless shelters, Lupus foundations. I want to do so many things. I’m really goal-oriented, and if you’re driven and focused it will happen for you.”

America has definitely not seen the last of this wonderful talent yet.
