People Magazine Carries Exclusive Photographs of Jennifer Lopez’s Twins

After being blessed with twins on February 22, Jennifer and Marc consented to have People magazine carry their exclusive first-time pictures of the 1-month old twins, Max and Emme. The latest edition of People’s magazine, out on Friday morning, carries an exclusive 12-page section containing photographs of the couple and their twins.

During an interview with Peter Castro from People’s magazine, Jennifer and Marc Anthony spoke at length about the various aspects of the pregnancy. Castro said Jennifer was looking absolutely lovely after the delivery, and had lost a lot of the 45 to 50 pounds that she had put on during the course of her pregnancy.

Castro said the couple had been trying for so long to have a baby that when it actually happened, it took three tests to convince Jennifer that she was actually pregnant. He said Jennifer was having a great time being a mother, and that despite having help around the house, she and Marc did a lot of the work related to the babies themselves, including staying up till 6:00 a.m. looking after the twins.

The babies were born early in the morning of February 22 in Long Island, New York. Emme, the girl baby was born at 12:12 a.m., while Max followed soon after, entering the world at 12:23 a.m. Both the babies were healthy, weighing 5 lbs. 7 oz and 6 lbs respectively.

Leah Remini, an old friend of Jennifer, had only wonderful things to say about Jennifer, calling her a ‘born mom.’ Remini said, “With our daughter, she's so great. I mean, lets her go in her closet and play with her coats or her jewelry. She's just so giving and loving.”

Jennifer had been evading questions relating to her pregnancy for a long time, even during October TV appearances in the Diane Sawyer and David Letterman shows. Not answering public questions about her private life is not new to Jennifer. Her marriage to Marc Anthony too had gone through the same routine in 2004.

The first time the world came to know about Jennifer’s pregnancy was when she announced it at the end of her final concert in Miami on November 8, 2007. During the course of an interview this month to Spanish-language television, Jennifer’s father confirmed that it was going to be ‘babies’ and not just a ‘baby’.

However, now that the babies have arrived, Jennifer plans not to adopt the secretive approach any more. In an interview to Harper’s Bazaar, the star said she would now be taking a break to be with the babies.

Jennifer’s friend and producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas said Jennifer seemed ‘very peaceful and happy and blissful.’ Goldsmith, the producer of the Jennifer starrer Maid in Manhattan, said the couple was totally ready to start a family. She said Jennifer had altered her schedule, toning it down from hectic to restful, giving a lot of time to the twins.

The twins are the first children for the 38-year old Jennifer, while for 39-year old husband Marc, they are the fourth and fifth.
