Nintendo’s Wii Zapper peripheral is to come bundled with a new Zelda universe game titled Link's Crossbow Training, announced the Japanese company keeping with its promise it made at the E3 earlier this year. The device is to go sale in North America on November 19.
Three games including EA's Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Capcom's Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and Sega's Ghost Squad, will be compatible with the Wii Zapper, said the company.
Link's Crossbow Training is an archery game that is designed to demonstrate how the Zapper works. It would carry players into a different world like one inhabited by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
According to Nintendo, Players suppose the character of hero Link, who goes through a series of tests to develop his crossbow marksmanship and attempt at perfecting it. They can begin with stationary bull's-eyes and advance to moving targets before defending Link against all kinds of enemies.
The Wii Zapper takes in both the Wii Remote and Nunchuck controller, making a light-gun device of the control system.
"The Wii Zapper combines our remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade-style games," said George Harrison, senior VP of marketing for Nintendo. "Both veteran and first-time players will find it brings a whole new dimension to games where targeting is key and provides even more exciting gameplay experiences."
The launch date of the new device in Europe has not been decided yet but Nintendo intends to bring the Wii Zapper, packed with Link's Crossbow Training to European countries this year. “We will confirm further details shortly,” the company said.
The Wii Zapper is to retail for $19.99.
