The sunken love between Rose and Jack, the unfortunate lovers who fall in love aboard the disastrous 1912 maiden voyage of Titanic, will again float atop as the pair is reuniting in “Revolutionary Road”.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, who played the star-crossed lovers in the 1997 shipwreck blockbuster "Titanic", a spectacular epic that re-creates the ill-fated maiden voyage of the White Star Line's R.M.S Titanic and the tragic sea disaster of April 15, 1912, have been signed by DreamWorks Studios to star in “Revolutionary Road”.

The doomed Titanic lovers, who are reuniting ten years after the Oscar winning blockbuster disaster movie, will now play a troubled married couple in an adaptation of ‘Revolutionary Road’, Richard Yates' 1961 novel about postwar disillusionment.

Directed by Winslet's husband, Oscar winning British filmmaker Sam Mendes, “Revolutionary Road” is a heartrending story of thwarted passion and the search for fulfillment.

"This is an extraordinary combination of three very special talents who represent the best in motion pictures. We are very fortunate to bring Leo, Kate, and Sam together to tell a story that can reflect the excellence that audiences around the world expect of them," said Adam Goodman, President of Production at DreamWorks.

Set in the 1950s, the story revolves around Frank and April Wheeler, an outwardly happy young couple who find themselves caught between their own desires for a life of art, culture and sophistication and the pressure to act accordance with routine jobs.

In their determination to distinguish themselves from their suburban peers, the Connecticut suburban couple with their two children eventually makes several life-altering decisions, with catastrophic consequences.

Production of the film will begin this summer, a DreamWorks spokesperson told media. BBC Films will produce the film in association with DreamWorks, which is a unit of Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures, while Paramount would handle worldwide distribution.

“Having bought the rights to the book and developed it with John Hart, we could not be more delighted at the way this film has come together,” said David Thompson, Head of BBC Films. “This is an extraordinary story with wide international appeal and resonance. To be working with the best and brightest talent from both sides of the Atlantic is particularly exciting.”

Winslet, who is working with her co-star DeCaprio for the first time since “Titanic”, will even debut with her husband, Mendes, who won an Oscar for directing 1999's dysfunctional family drama "American Beauty."

Born on October 5, 1975 in Reading, England as Kate Elizabeth Winslet, the British actress is noted for having played a wide range of diverse characters over her career, but is probably best-known for her critically acclaimed performance as Juliet Hulme in ‘Heavenly Creatures’ (1994), Rose DeWitt Bukater in the highest-grossing film of all time, ‘Titanic’ (1997) and Clementine Kruczynski in ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004).

The five-time Oscar nominee Kate Winslet, who earned an Oscar nomination for last year's "Little Children," is the winner of British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

Born on November 11, 1974 in Los Angeles, California as Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio, the American actor is a three-times Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award winner well known for his roles in blockbuster movies such as ‘Titanic’ (1997), William Shakespeare's ‘Romeo + Juliet’ (1996), ‘The Aviator’ (2004), ‘The Departed’ (2006), ‘Catch Me If You Can’ (2002) and ‘Blood Diamond’ (2006), for which DiCaprio earned a Best Actor nod.

"Revolutionary Road", one of the most venerated post-war American novels, is considered a master work of modern American literature, and was named one of the top 100 novels of all time by Time magazine.

“Titanic” is a Academy Award-winning 1997 romantic drama film written, directed and co-produced by James Cameron, in which Kate Winslet and DiCaprio played as Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson respectively, members of different social strata who fall in love aboard the ill-fated maiden voyage of the White Star Line's $7.5 million R.M.S Titanic that sank in the icy North Atlantic in 1912.

It holds the record for the highest-grossing film of all time, generating more than US$1.8 billion worldwide, and made DiCaprio and Winslet household names. In 1998 it was nominated for fourteen Academy Awards and won eleven, including the title of 1997's Best Picture.
