The Giants-Vikings was moved to Detroit thanks to the collapse of the Metrodome's inflatable roof under the weight of a 17-inch snowfall that hit downtown Minneapolis this weekend.
Vikings fans with tickets to the Giants game who can make their way to Detroit will be given priority seating at Ford Field. But all other seats for the game will be distributed free at the stadium box office starting at 9 a.m. EST Monday, USA Today reported,
All Vikings fans will be given refunds for the moved game.
Heavy snow, winds and single-digit temperatures were forecast for all day Sunday and into Monday in Detroit.
That forecast had the potential to further complicate the already bizarre travel situation for the Giants, who remained in Kansas City Sunday after their plane was diverted there due to Saturday's blizzard in the Twin Cities, the New York Daily News said.
