Marlins sign Vazquez to 1-year deal

Miami-- The Florida Marlins officially signed pitcher Javier Vazquez to a one-year contract Thursday, the team said, though the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vazquez was coming off a disappointing season with the Yankees, posting a record of 10-10 in 31 games, with 26 starts and a 5.32 earned run average. He was left off the Yankees playoff roster in October.

The 34-year-old right-hander has a 152-149 career record with a 4.26 ERA in 418 games, including 411 starts, over 13 seasons with the Expos, Yankees, Diamondbacks, White Sox and Braves. He was an All-Star in his first Yankee season of 2004.
