Boyle suffers frog in throat on 'View'

NewYork -- Scottish singer Susan Boyle stopped her performance of "O Holy Night" mid-song on "The View" after her voice faltered and she couldn't continue.

The New York Post said "View" co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd came to Boyle's rescue as she stood smiling at the audience, which applauded loudly for her.

Goldberg then explained how singers sometimes get frogs in their throats while performing.

"Mine is always like that," she said. "But that happens to you periodically, but when you're performing, what can you really do except stop and say, 'I got a frog in my throat,' yeah?"
"Yeah, I know," Boyle said.

"There's something of an angel that comes out when you open your mouth," Shepherd told her. "An amazingly pure sound."

Although Tuesday's live broadcast from New York didn't go well, Boyle's performance was taped without incident later and shown to West Coast audiences, the Post said.
