NBA: Dallas 103, San Antonio 94

San Antonio -- Dirk Nowitzki helped Dallas put together a late-game rush Friday and end San Antonio's 12-game winning streak with a 103-94 victory.

It was only the second loss in 15 games for the Spurs, who had gotten off to the best start in franchise history. San Antonio had been trying for its first 13-game streak in four seasons.

San Antonio took a one-point lead with 4:49 remaining before Dallas closed the contest on a 16-6 run.

Nowitzki made 12-of-14 shots and scored 26 points as part of the Mavericks' fourth straight win. Tyson Chandler and Shawn Marion both had 19 for Dallas.

The Mavericks suspended center Brendan Haywood for the game due to an undisclosed violation of team rules.

San Antonio was led by 31 points from Manu Ginobili and 21 from George Hill.
