DMX denies violating parole

Phoenix -- Hip-hop star DMX has denied violating his probation for an assault conviction by using cocaine and Oxycontin, court officials in Arizona said.

The 39-year-old rapper, whose real name Earl Simmons, appeared at the Maricopa County courthouse Wednesday and insisted he hasn't recently used cocaine and Oxycontin, RadarOnline.com reported.

Simmons was arrested Nov. 18 for a probation violation after he was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine.

He was also cited for use of Oxycontin without a prescription, failing to submit to drug testing, failing to participate in counseling programs, failure to make payments for fines and driving on a suspended license, RadarOnline said.

The rapper is due back in court Dec. 9.
