Police: Fake bomb reported to stop wedding

Moscow -- Russian police said they arrested a woman who tried to prevent her daughter's wedding by falsely accusing her of plotting to blow up a plane.

Investigators said the 56-year-old Yaroslavl woman was arrested after allegedly calling police and claiming her daughter was planning a suicide bomb attack on a plane traveling from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to Morocco, RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.

The flight was delayed for an unspecified amount of time while officers investigated.

"Her daughter recently fell in love with a Moroccan citizen and was planning to get married to him and move to Morocco. The woman was against the marriage and did not want her daughter to move abroad," a police spokeswoman said.
