Braves obtain Uggla from Marlins

Atlanta -- The Atlanta Braves have acquired slugging all-star second baseman Dan Uggla from the Florida Marlins, the teams said Tuesday.

The Braves, in turn, surrendered infielder Omar Infante and pitcher Mike Dunn.

Uggla, 30, has been one of the game's top-hitting second basemen in his four years with the Marlins. He is the only second baseman ever to register four straight 30-homer seasons, batting .287 with 33 home runs and 105 RBI in 159 games last season.

Uggla is the Marlins' all-time home run leader with 154.

With the Braves, he will be reunited with former Marlins skipper Fredi Gonzalez, and will join Martin Prado and Chipper Jones in the infield. Prado has mostly played second base and Jones has said he will return to the club in 2011.

Infante, meanwhile, made his first National League all-star squad season, batting .321 with eight homers and 47 RBI in 134 games with Atlanta, for whom he played five different positions.

Dunn, 25, posted a 1.89 ERA and a 2-0 record in 25 games for the Braves.
