Screenwriter injured by N.Y. subway train

new York -- Screenwriter and stage actor Will Rokos is in critical but stable condition at a Manhattan hospital after he was hit in the head by a subway train.

The New York Post reported the 57-year-old "Monster's Ball" scribe was injured Saturday when he leaned over the subway platform to see if a train was coming.

Rokos was semi-conscious and alert when police arrived at the platform, officials told the Post.

Although the driver of the train apparently saw Rokos and slammed on the brakes, he couldn't stop in time and the first five cars pulled into the station, the newspaper said.
