Clijsters to face Wozniacki for WTA title

Doha-- Kim Clijsters shook off a car accident to score a semifinal win Saturday, advancing to meet Caroline Wozniacki for the title of the WTA Championships.

Clijsters' courtesy car got into a traffic accident en route to the venue in Doha, Qatar. The vehicle was abandoned on the side of a highway and a replacement car was summoned, The Telegraph reported.

Although Clijsters wasn't injured in the mishap, she got off to a slow start in her semifinal match against Samantha Stosur in the season-ending tourney.

But she quickly recovered and ultimately prevailed over the Australian 7-6 (7-3), 6-1. She will now go on to face Wozniacki, who polished off Russia's Vera Zvonareva, 7-5, 6-0, in Saturday's other semifinal.

Clijsters, the 2009 and 2010 U.S. Open champ, will be seeking her 40th career singles title and fifth in 11 tournaments this year.

Wozniacki, meanwhile, overcame a tough first set by rolling through the second frame against Zvonareva, limiting her to just four points in the entire set.

The Danish star gained her seventh final of the 2010 season with the victory.
Clijsters defeated Wozniacki in the 2009 U.S. Open final.
