NHL: Minnesota 6, Vancouver 2

St.Paul, Minn. -- A goal and two assists by Marek Zidlicky helped the Minnesota Wild breeze by the Vancouver Canucks 6-2 Tuesday.

Zidlicky scored one of Minnesota's three power play goals and backed up a solid 25-save performance in goal by Niklas Backstrom.

Matt Cullen and Cal Clutterbuck had the other two power-play goals for the Wild in a rough-and-tumble contest. Vancouver's Rick Rypien was tossed at 13:38 of the second period after racking up two roughing penalties and a game misconduct. The fuming Rypien scuffled briefly with a Wild fan after being banished to the locker room.

Vancouver had a pair of goals from Daniel Sedin; one early in the first period to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead. The other came in the closing minutes of the game with Minnesota ahead 6-1. Roberto Luongo lasted only two periods, giving up all six goals on a modest 18 shots.
