Bengals' Jones detained after curb-jumping

Cincinnati -- Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Adam Jones was handcuffed and detained then released without charges or arrest after a traffic incident, police said.

Police said they handcuffed Jones, 27, after he was witnessed driving a silver Jaguar onto the sidewalk Sunday near the Great American Ball Park, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Police said they detained Jones after determining there was an outstanding warrant on the license plates. It wasn't reported what that warrant concerned.
Jones drove onto the sidewalk after swerving to avoid a car in front of his, a witness said.

Police said Jones was questioned and then allowed to leave the scene.

Jones, first drafted in 2005 by the Tennessee Titans, has been arrested a number of times on charges of assault, felony vandalism, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, the Enquirer reported.

Jones, who entered an alcohol rehabilitation program in 2008, signed a two-year contract with the Bengals on May 10.
