MLB: Texas 2, LA Angels 1 (12 innings)

Anaheim, Calif. -- Jeff Francoeur scored on a passed ball in the 12th inning Tuesday and Texas beat the Los Angeles Angels 2-1 to take another step toward the AL West title.

Francoeur opened the 12th with a double off Matt Palmer (1-2). Chris Davis walked and both runners advanced on a Bengie Molina sacrifice.

Palmer struck out pinch-hitter Mitch Moreland but Francoeur then came in with the winning run on a passed ball.

Neftali Feliz pitched a perfect bottom of the 12th for his 37th save.

Angels starter Dan Haren allowed one run on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts over seven innings.

The Angels scored on a Mike Napoli home run off Texas starter C.J. Wilson in the seventh.

The Rangers increased their lead to eight games over second-place Oakland in the AL West and lowered their magic number for clinching their first division title since 1999 to four.
Texas and the A's open a four-game series in Oakland Thursday.
