MLB: Texas 11, Detroit 4

Arlington, Texas -- Michael Young drove in three runs and David Murphy homered Tuesday, powering the Texas Rangers to their sixth straight win, 11-4 over Detroit.

Young finished with three hits and three runs scored and Elvis Andrus contributed two hits and two runs scored for the AL West-leading Rangers, who pounded out 14 hits.

Dustin Nippert (4-4) got the win after pitching 4 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of Derek Holland, who was pulled after just four frames.

Tigers starter Jeremy Bonderman yielded four runs in five innings but Robbie Weinhardt (1-2) absorbed the loss, surrendering three runs (only one earned) on four hits.

Casper Wells led Detroit at the plate, going 4-for-4 with an RBI.
