MLB: Philadelphia 5, Los Angeles 1

Los Angeles -- Roy Oswalt hurled six-plus innings of one-hit ball and Philadelphia backed him with 10 hits Wednesday in the Phillies' 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Oswalt (10-13) survived a wild streak, holding the Dodgers scoreless over 6 1/3 innings despite surrendering six walks. He also fanned six in posting his sixth straight start without a loss for the Phillies, who came into the game trailing the first-place Atlanta Braves by three games in the National League East.

Jimmy Rollins led off the game with a homer and Shane Victorino added a solo shot in the second for the Phils, who took their fifth win in six games.

With the win, the Phillies took a two-game lead over second-place San Francisco in the NL wild-card chase.

Clayton Kershaw (11-9) struck out 11 in six innings but yielded a pair of runs on five hits and two walks to take the loss for Los Angeles.
