MLB: Houston 4, Philadelphia 2 (16 inn.)

Philadelphia -- An infield single by Chris Johnson in the 16th inning gave the Houston Astros a 4-2 win over Philadelphia Tuesday in a game that lasted 5 hours, 20 minutes.

The game ended on a groundout by pitcher Roy Oswalt, who was sent in to play left field for two innings after Ryan Howard was ejected, leaving the Phillies with no other position players.

Johnson had four hits in the game and Carlos Lee provided a two-run homer for the Astros.

Jeff Fulchino (1-0) picked up the win by pitching the final two innings. He walked three batters but did not give up a hit.

David Herndon (1-3) finished the game for Philadelphia and wound up with the loss. Herndon was one of eight pitchers to work for the Phillies. Houston sent seven pitchers to the mound.

The Astros led 2-1 going into the bottom of the ninth but Jimmy Rollins knotted the score with a two-out solo home run off Wilton Lopez.
