MLB: Chicago White Sox 8, Detroit 4

Chicago -- Gordon Beckham's three-run home run gave Chicago a four-run cushion in the fifth Friday and the White Sox held on to defeat Detroit 8-4.

Chicago stayed within one game of division-leading Minnesota in the American League Central.

Mark Teahen added a two-run homer for the White Sox in the sixth and Alexei Ramirez had a solo shot in the eighth to ensure a victory for Mark Buehrle (11-9).

Buehrle gave up three runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings and left the game after giving up a homer to Ryan Raburn that drew the Tigers within 6-3.

Jeremy Bonderman (6-8) was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs on seven hits in six innings.

Chicago has won 22 of its last 26 home games. The Tigers have lost seven of their last nine.
