MLB: Colorado 6, New York Mets 2

Jon Niese held Colorado to a run on five hits with seven strikeouts through seven innings, but it took three New York relievers to get through the eighth. All of the damage in Colorado's big inning was done after two were out.

Hisanori Takahashi (7-6) retired Seth Smith and Dexter Fowler to start the eighth, but Todd Helton singled and Carlos Gonzalez drew a walk. Manny Acosta relieved Takahashi and threw a wild pitch before intentionally walking Troy Tulowitzki to load the bases.

Mora then hit a 2-2 pitch over the wall in left-center for the fourth grand slam of his career. It was the eighth grand slam allowed by the Mets this season.

After Mora's blast, a walk to Brad Hawpe and singles by Chris Iannetta and Clint Barmes accounted for another run.

The win went to Matt Belisle (5-4), who struck out the side in the seventh in his only inning. Colorado pitching retired the last 15 New York batters.

New York's runs came on a first-inning homer by Angel Pagan. The Mets lost for the fourth time in six games.
