MLB: New York Mets 1, Colorado 0

New York -- Mike Pelfrey outdueled major league wins leader Ubaldo Jimenez Tuesday and the New York Mets edged Colorado 1-0.

Pelfrey (11-6) tossed seven shutout innings, scattering four hits, walking one and striking out four. The right-hander turned around a recent string of bad outings which had seen him go 0-4 with a 9.00 ERA in his previous seven starts.

Hisanori Takahashi hurled a scoreless eighth and Francisco Rodriguez notched a 1-2-3 ninth to collect his 25th save.

Jose Reyes drove in the game's only run with a seventh-inning sacrifice fly.

Jimenez (17-3) was the hard-luck loser, yielding only the one run in seven innings. He came up short in his bid to set a Rockies club record for most wins in a season.
