Jeter capped a five-run fifth inning with a two-run double and Lance Berkman chipped with three hits and an RBI as New York established a seven-game lead over the third-place the Bosox in the American League East.
Red Sox starter Josh Beckett (3-2) was rocked for seven runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Bill Hall went homered and went 3-for-4 for Boston.
