MLB: Toronto 8, Cleveland 1

Toronto -- Baseball's home run leader, Jose Bautista, highlighted a six-run fourth with a grand slam Friday, pacing the Toronto Blue Jays to an 8-1 victory over Cleveland.

It was the 31st homer of the season for Bautista, who established a club record with his 11th long ball of July. He had three hits overall and helped bring the Blue Jays their fourth straight win.

Toronto had a 1-0 lead before sending 10 men to the plate in the fourth. Edwin Encarnacion and Yunel Escobar drove in the first two runs of the inning with singles and both runners scored along with Fred Lewis on the Bautista home run.

All eight Toronto runs came off Justin Masterson (3-10), who allowed a career-worst 13 hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Shaun Marcum (10-4) coasted to the win, giving up a run on three hits in seven innings. He struck out a season-high 10.

Cleveland has lost three straight and six out of seven.
